Dark East, the Friulian film festival in Tauriano, Spilimbergo. Discover the films, music, photography, and literature made in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The DarkEst Film Festival – Shadows in the North-East is a cultural event which takes place over a long weekend in July in the gardens of the former elementary school in Tauriano, Spilimbergo. The festival aims at putting the spotlight on well-established and emerging Friulian artists and show this beautiful region under a new light. This event is organised by ZeroZeroBudget, and is part of the Perle di Mosaico (Mosaic Pearls) project of the Municipality of Spilimbergo.
The evenings throughout the event open with literary and music performances before the projection of the selected film, and end with “a dark goodnight”, i.e. a series of Gothic and horror short films. Friuli Venezia Giulia is the common thread running through the whole festival, both serving as the set and playing the leading role. During the event, visitors can also admire photography exhibitions and taste Spilimbergo’s traditional dishes.
